| Notes: * Nominal power is not necessarily the power experienced by the rider (see article "What's Watt"). ** Battery technologies (see also article "Batteries"): sla = sealed sead acid, NiMH = Nickel Metal-Hydrid and Li-Ion = Lithium-Ion (Manganese or Polymer). *** Range (distance per fully charged fairly new battery) is unavoidably a direct function of power draw from the finite capacity battery. Range does vary dramatically with a number of factors, i.e. rider weight, pedalling effort, power application, terrain, road conditions, speed, stop-and-go, condition of the bike and even temperature. Our current NiMH and Li-ion batteried models achieve about twice the range of our earlier SLA models. Figures given in the table are 'real life and traffic conditions with modest pedalling'. Some rider report greater range, some less. Range under industry test conditions may be double of what given. See also Range. |
