Bikes on Busses

In the Greater Seattle area electric-assisted bicycles are allowed to be carried on the bicycle racks of Metro busses. See http://metro.kingcounty.gov/tops/bike/bikeride.html.

Regarding length restrictions please note that full sized eZee models have a wheel base longer than 46", while the eZee Quando, Giant Twists and Schwinns have shorter wheel bases than 46". Metro may have been replacing racks so we are not sure whether the max wheels base is 46" or not…

The weight limit for Metro's bus bike rack appears to be 55 lb per loadable position. The Schwinns, the eZee Quando and the Giant Twist Express weigh less even with the battery in place, as do the Giant Twist Freedom DX, Freedom and the Currie EcoRide after removal of the quick release batteries or battery.

Folding bikes (at least non-electric) are allowed inside the bus as well when folded. See folded dimensions.
