The Urban delivers road performance on a budget. A 21-speed drivetrain provides ample gearing for hilly roads, while a rear rack and 35mm tires make it ideal for commuting over rough roads and potholes. The patented RackStand also has a built in fender, acts as a kickstand, and serves as a stand for the folded bike.
Utility & Versatility
The Urban’s wide gear range and thick tires make it extremely versatile for a variety of terrain and road surfaces, while the RackStand offers cargo carrying and a built in bike stand.

DirectConnect™ Folding system
New for 2016 is the DirectConnect folding system, which removes the quick release from the top tube, provides an easier folding experience and larger clamping surface between the two halves of the frame. A flip of the quick release lever and your bike folds to a compact size. More...
Folding Integrated Technology
The FIT frame is designed around another patented system that allows the bike to fold without any breaks in the frame’s tubing. Not only does this make it easier to fold, but it makes Montague bikes the strongest folding bike on the market. The Folding Integrated Technology (F.I.T.) is based around the same frame construction concepts as serious full suspension downhill bikes. More...
RackStand is a luggage carrier, mudguard, kickstand, and work stand all in one. A quick release allows it to rotate under the rear wheel on a specially designed axle mount. When in the lowered position it acts as a kickstand or workstand, makes folding your Montague easier, and allows the folded bike to be stored or displayed upright. More...
"The bike arrived fully assembled and very well packed. It was in pristine condition and I was able to ride it after unpacking and reading the instructions. The shifters were properly indexed and the bike rode, shifted and braked perfectly. While this bike (like all bikes) is a compromise, it has exceeded my expectations. The bike defies easy categorization. It folds into an easy-to-store and -carry package, but it feels and rides like a solid, full frame bike. There are seven speeds, but these are perfectly adapted for most road conditions – think the opposite of a big-box store bike. I haven’t clocked the bike with a speedometer yet, but it feels fast. I have no trouble keeping up with NYC traffic and consistently pass hybrid and delivery bikes. Bottom line: this is an incredible bike that’s a reflection of the care and thought put into its design and execution. Consider this bike even if folding features aren’t a high priority."
—Parker C. Thompson, New York, New York
"I can’t say enough about this bike. From the weight, to the functionality, to the looks, I can find no fault with this bike. Working on a large college campus, this was one of the best investments I’ve made, letting me drive to campus and then get around to points A, B, and Q in comfort, speed, and style. There’s a reason the US Army Rangers use Montague."
