Montague: Paratrooper Highline
The Paratrooper Highline is a true cross country machine. 27.5 inch wheels provide superior rolling ability over octables and rough terrain. A Rockshox fork and hydraulic disc brakes satisfy the true XC rider looking for convenience. Like all Montagues, the Highline is designed to fit on the bus or train, and easily in your car trunk or boat.
The Paratrooper Highline is a rugged 27.5″ wheel folding mountain bike with a 2×10 drivetrain. With fat tires and a wide range cassette, the Highline is built for after-work rides on your favorite trails and full-on weekend excursions in the mountains.

The Paratrooper Highline features 27.5″ wheels, a slightly larger diameter than the traditional 26″ mountain bike wheel. The size rolls over obstacles easier, and provides a larger contact point with the ground, both ideal for off road riding.
The Paratrooper Highline is equipped with a two ring crankset, a simpler and lighter weight setup than the traditional triple chainring. The 2×10 drivetrain offers more reliable shifting and more ground clearance for obstacles. With the ability to use all ten gears with either ring cross chaining is a thing of the past. As a result, very little gear range is compromised.
Hydraulic Disc Brakes
Tektro hydraulic disc brakes with 160mm rotors provide amazing stopping power. Perfect for gravity defying rides through the mountains. The sealed system keeps dirt and grime out of the brake’s moving parts while the hydraulic actuated caliper makes for lightning fast brake response.
“I am a heavy rider at 6’2″ 258lbs and was worried that a folding bike might not be very solid. I wanted a bike for fitness riding around NYC to supplement my jogging and gym routine. A mountain bike seemed like a good idea for some of the roads. The Montague caught my interest because of the way it folds around the seatpost (i.e. no breaks in the tubes unlike the Dahon bikes). I read the reviews, purchased one, and am happy to report that it is a rock solid bike with NO compromises caused by the folding feature. It is as solid and rigid as any non-folding bike I have ridden, yet I can fold it up and keep it in my closet (I live in a NYC apartment). It is really a super nice bike that I can recommend without reservation.”

“This is my second Montague Folding Bike purchase. About a year ago, I bought the Paratrooper Pro Model, 20″ for my son and was impressed with the strong frame, no flex or looseness when locked in the unfolded riding position. I’ve been an avid bike rider for over 50 years. This is the 5th mountain bike I’ve owned. It exceeds my previous mountain bikes with the smoothest shifting I’ve experienced and what seems to be the sturdiest frame yet in spite of the folding ability. If you are looking for a folding mountain bike to handle hard climbs and rough surfaces, I think you will be very favorably impressed with the Montague models.”
“The collapsible frame has proven to be very sturdy as I use it off road mountain biking regularly. I also purchased the storage bag for the bike and it has proved to be very durable and accomplishes exactly what I hoped to. I can collapse the bike when finished using, put inside the vinyl storage bag and store out of site in the house easily. This is an excellent solution for small apartments, or very limited space. All in all very happy with the purchase as a rule!”
